Rating scale

I rate on a five-star scale and use half stars.

• 5 stars: I loved it and I'd recommend it to anyone who reads the genre.
• 4 stars: I really enjoyed it, and any flaws were small.
• 3 stars: A good read with some uneven parts.
• 2 stars: I struggled to enjoy it.
• 1 star: It didn't work for me.

Romance reviews may also include a spice rating from 0 to 5 chilies.

Advance reader copies

When I review an ARC, I say so at the top of the review. I read ARCs by the same standards as every other book, and a free copy never guarantees a good rating.

I aim to post ARC reviews on or close to the publication date.

Content warnings

When I include content warnings, they sit in a collapsed section at the end of the review, so you can open them if you want them and skip them if you don't.
